Wembanyama thanks supporters during the Olympics; Keldon Johnson's support helps students heading back to school

"Merci la France," Wembanyama shared on social media.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama and Team France lost the gold medal game against Team USA.

The team was in tears after the game as the French fans cheered them, knowing they had given it their all on the court.

And that support did not fall on deaf ears.

After the Olympics ended, Wemby took to social media to thank everyone for the support they gave him and let them know it was just the start of great things for French basketball.

"It's just the beginning," Wemby posted. "Merci la France. Merci aux supporters Francais."

KELDON JOHNSON MAKES A HUGE IMPACT WITH SAN ANTONIO STUDENTS

To help students in the San Antonio area return to school, Spurs' Keldon Johnson did his part at the third-annual "Back 2 School Backpack Drive"

The event, which provided free backpacks, haircuts, and school supplies for local students, was a huge success.

Check out the video from the event; it is clear that the students appreciated Johnson and all involved.

The event organizer, San Antonio-based Jiggity Jay Entertainment, aims to make a positive impact in San Antonio and feels this event will help the city improve.

"The whole purpose of my doing the back-to-school drive and community events was to help motivate and positively impact the community I live in," said founder and entrepreneur Jiggity Jay. "This is my third year doing it at Countdown City Cuts, and every year, it's been bigger. I just use my connections with the special guests to get them to come out and support me."
